Aialik Bay, Kenai Fjords is famous for it's wildlife. It's common to see humpback whales and pods of orca (killer) whales. We often see them from our kayaks and from the charter boat taking us out to Aialik. Our boat captain will stop and even to go out of the way to give you an opportunity to see them. Kenai Fjords is one of those rare locations in Alaska that's just teaming with wildlife. We can almost guarantee that you will see numerous black bears. There are seals around the glaciers, sea otters, and bald eagles and a occasional mountain goat, coyote, and hoary marmot. There's also a haulout for endangered Steller sea lions, and masses of seabirds nest here in the summer, including the famous puffin.
There are three tidewater glaciers that spill down off the Harding Ice field. On all our sea kayaking adventures you'll witness the awesome power of calving glaciers from the best seat in house, your kayak. As the glaciers slide into the ocean the sounds will amaze you. The valleys come alive with thunderous booms and echoes, an experience you will not forget.
You'll see lots of waterfalls cascading down sheer granite walls. You can even sea kayak under waterfalls, if you're bold, On the longer trips we sea kayak through numerous rock arches while exploring the rugged coast of this maritime fjord.
